Horizontal Dimension of Angled Slot Problem

Hi

I am trying to dimension this horizontally across the rads but it keeps cutting in to the nodes on the rad.

(Dim should come out at 27.144mm)

You have to add sketch lines to the drawing and dimension to them. Add a line with a vertical constraint to the left side of the view, and give it a tangent constriant. Do the same on the right side, then dimension between them. You can put the lines on the dimensions layer, and tune the lengths by hand to look the way you want them too.

You might be able to move them to a new layer and turn the layer off if you're really picky, but I've never tried it that way.

Kev Using the outside slot method that is what you are going to get as far as I can tell.
I added 2 reference lines constrained on the tangent and took a measurement from there.

Your methods work fine , just very surprised it doesnt do this automatically as a horizontal over all length.

Using the measurement tool in 3D doesnt give the measurement either.
