NPT is not included in the Hard coded (grumble grumble) threads and needs to be added to the custom thread file.

Close Alibre before continuing.

Look here C:\ProgramData\Alibre Design\System Files and if you don't see a file called alibre_unicode_custom.thd then copy the file below to this location, then change the extension from txt to thd. It includes all the custom threads I have gathered over the years.

If you do have this file, open it with Notepad and add the following lines to the bottom.

;; NPT Section
;;
*1/16 NPT,27,0.2810,B,0.3182,0.2441,0.2812,A,0.3366,0.2626,0.2996,9

then do a Save As and be sure that encoding is set to unicode next to the save button.

Restart Alibre.

Also have a look here for my thread file editor which helps with editing/adding threads.

What version are you running. "NPT" is one of the choices in my versioun "2017.1.2." Now, it is not that well implemented to be sure, but it is there.

Lew I'm pretty sure that its not there by default. Once you add it to the custom file it shows. I'm sure I got the above set from one of your posts some years ago.

Albie, I placed your file in the location but was unable to locate the new threads in my insert hole command nor was I able to figure out how to specifically select to look at the custom thd file rather than the default. Should I rename the custom file with the default file name after archiving the default file?

There is NOT a 'default' file to replace - read the instructions in the sample.thd file in that folder.

If the custom file isn't working, it's most likely minor formatting issue, or you've failed to save in Unicode.

You have to at least re-start AD for the file to work. Might be worth trying a re-boot, though I don't recall this as being required.
