Import of ".stl" files

Sorry, if this was covered earlier but a search didn't come up with a response.

I have up till now never had the need to import a .stl file before. Is there a workaround to accomplish such?

I assumed that all 3D Cad tools would be able to use this format to interchange designs.

Is there such an import in Alibre that I haven't found? or ?

There is anything native to Alibre, if it is not listed in the file types of a File Open dialog it's not available.
But I did find this thread started be @bigseb.

Alas when it was geomagic stl files were imported. When it went back to Alibre we lost that incredibly useful feature. The solution is easy. Get a home (free) license to Fusion 360, import and then export as stp or get FreeCAD 0.19 which will also import stl and then export as STP.
