Merging an Assembly

I have some STEP models that I have imported that end up as Alibre assemblies with tons of parts. I don't need to edit any of the part individually so what I would like to do is to merge the assembly into one part. I know I can do a boolean but the problem with booleans is that you still have to keep the assembly around. Is there ay way to merge and be able to delete the assembly and just keep the merged part?

YOu might be able to export it as a step 214 or one of the other formats and then import it again....

for a assembly boolean it is not necessary to keep the ASM

The fastest and easiest way is to export as ACIS/SAT and reimport and save that as a part.
