Missing dimeensions when editing existing sketch

When going back and editing an existing sketch, I cannot see (or edit) any of the dimensions. Do I have something set incorrectly someplace?

More info: I just noticed when sketching that if I draw something, like a rectangle, and enter dimensions while drawing it (by tabbing), the size is correct and the rectangle is fully contained (all black). But the dimensions disappear from view. If I then try to apply a new dimension, a small dialog box with the existing dimension (and a check box and button) pops up, but the dimension cannot be changed. This makes it impossible to change the size of any geometry in the sketch.

Has anyone else seen this behaviour?
Anyone know what I did to change this behaviour (it worked differently before - dimensions remained visible and could be edited easily).

Also available from 'Sketch options' icons at right hand end of the 2D sketch Ribbon.

I see it there now. Those little boxes look useful. I'll bet I clicked on it to turn dimensions off and didn't realize at the time.
