Hi, I crash with my wife on the use of PC currently quite often.
I of course wanted to buy Windows Xeon or i7 mega-desktop with 24Gbytes Win64, no doubt about it.
But.... wife's answer would be, surely no doubt about it, Biiiiiiig NO.

Yesterday, I happened to have a chance to upgrade our mobiles, because the phone bill got lower here thanks to the competition from abroad.
Then I found this phone.

Oops this one.

And I also found that application can also be made for it.(Which won't be any usable, but hobby alone, I am afraid.)
Example:

Anyway, this is a java application, Alibre might as well dig out V8 and let it run on it! It might be the world first 3D CAD run on Android, perhaps. :p

iPhone is probably not running on ANDROID, yet.

This is a PC which is compact and equipped with mobile phone.
Some look like phones but they run on Android OS.
It's the Google's next target to let PC run with this OS, I overheard.

I bought it because it's much cheaper than least expensive PC....and I can use it as a phone too.
And I can connect it to my wireless local area network at home.
It is too small as a normal PC, so you cannot do a lot of things, but as a phone, it does more than one expects.
Thus they call it Smart phone, I guess.

New gadget... :D

He says, he might be regarded as if he is kidding talking to his eye glass's container.....

You can also talk to it by putting in front with louder sounds, but it's not recommended in crowded place, maybe.

I donno, I haven't got it yet, but it's a small PC so you can imagine that most of the interfaces are equipped with already.

I've been looking at Android phones lately since I need a new phone soon. This one is releasing the end of this month. http://www.phonearena.com/htmls/Samsung-Epic-4G-phone-p_4720.html
Its specs are probably a little better then my first pc.
Nate, your model seems much newer than mine. I got V1.6, while your's V2.1.

BTW, I have Android any of version on my PC, too.
It's an emulator.

Not only that, but ARES is on the Mac and now DS is announcing Draftsight on the Mac (beta coming in a couple weeks). So far, these are not 3D MCAD tools, only 2D drafting tools, but it seems like the market is starting to shift. I sure hope Alibre reads the writing on the wall doesn't get left behind.

Once CAD goes to the Mac, I have no reason to stay with Windows. And then I can finally get rid of MS Office as well. HELLO OPEN OFFICE!

I agree, Scott!

The newly bought market share of Mac goes over 50% today, I overheard.
The kernel for Mac is Linux(Unix), so 3D CAD should work on both Apple and Linux in the near future, just by start using Linux. (Not easy right now, but it might be risky if it stays only with Windows.)

Mobile kernel was part of Linux as well. (Now it is cut off, they say.)
