Newbie STL export to Slic3r problem

I am trying to use Alibre Design v11.2 to export a STL file to Pronterface/slic3r for my Printrbot. For now I am trying to use the Alibre tutorial part Pull_Handle.stp. I export the STL file using default settings. I can see the part in EasyFIT or Netfabb studio, but slic3r says it detects no layers and that I should repair my STL file and try again. The Netfabb repair function changes the file size but doesn't fix the problem. I have no problems with slic3r and STL files from Thingiverse.

What am I doing wrong? Is Alibre v11.2 too old?

I know the Pull_Handle will not print well but I just wanted a known good Alibre part to test the tool chain and load the part into Pronterface.

What are your AD V11.2 STL export settings?
Do you use the Alibre default STL settings?
