What's new

OFF TOPIC ( PTC Creo )

This is not meant to be any sort of advertisement nor announcement.
Just a concept that PTC wanted to put in public that they are still alive.

I would not know if our firm buys it, just because the firms got ME10 from CoCreate.
They haven't even moved out of the 2D world yet, so what you would expect...

But the new Creo doesn't appeal me well, it looks like we are simply watching what we already have...
I saw full ceremony of the webinar of Creo over Internet, but I felt sorry, because it didn't look new.
Alibre, with some drawbacks, has it already.
Most of them. (maybe not all) but quite close.

Just a touch of the huge CAD.

It categorizes historic CAD as sophisticated approach. I don't know.
I use CoCreate at my work, so my work is easy and simple, I don't know either.
Because it requires complicated knowledge as well as work.

It's less work than historical CAD, that is one thing for sure.
Dynamic modeling is like creating a STEP 214 through CAD GUI.
While historic CAD is manipulating very complicated matter in a more complex way.

And I know little about historic CAD through this forum and my little experience with the Alibre design work at my firm, and it was tough work as compared to CoCreate dynamic modeling in fact.

But, I don't really know if PTC could survive against this small giant named Alibre...

Very much off topic.
Sorry for interruption.
