Good idea.

I need to adjust my brain system first, though.
I tend to recognize symptom as what it is and marking them as avoiding spots, and taking other path so I won't get stuck.
I need to get stuck with it and investigate it and need to determine it is a bug first.
It seems like a big job....

P.S.
I looked at my maintenance request history, I got only 'Escalated to Dev's.
Then what they should be?
They haven't told me it is a bug. How do I know their decision?
Most of them I reported as 'Problem', I suppose.
..... :?:

Here is what I found.

There is a revolve cut feature in the tire tread creation.
It has to leave portion of the part to let the revolve cut to work properly.

If I enlarge the area to cut revolve, it does not cut out at all.

Unless I adjust the size of the area to revolve cut it does not work as expected, and it does not even report it failed to cut the part.

I used the file from this post.

Can anyone verify this?

Yes, I noticed this Toshi. I meant to follow it up but, as you said, when you need a result it's easiest to just change tack....... :)

Thank you, Miles :D

That confirms the truth which perhaps could be added as another one to that thread.

Here is another bug (to me).
Thin wall revolve will change it's side when lines are added to arc.
When I create the tire with only arc, side2 is dimensioned so that the thickness extends toward inside of the tire.

To be continued.

Then I added two lines to both ends of the arc.
What happened was the revolve side values are swapped.
So the tire looked like inflated.

So revolve feature has to be modified to have the side changed inner side external side and vice versa.

Would anyone verify this issue, please.
Thank you for your attention.

Toshi,
I just created a Thin Wall Revolve similar to your tire and I see the same results. For my part I started with an arc and set the wall thickness to .25 for side 1.

When I edited the sketch to add two lines tangent to the arc and let it rebuild the thickness flipped to the inside. When I converted the lines to reference geometry, the thickness flipped back to the outside. In both cases the wall thickness remained set at .25 for side 1.

Harold, would you do that using Side2 dimensioned, not side1.
It would reproduce if you use side2 thickness alone.
(I hope.)
Cheers. :D

Harold, I tried with side1 valued only.
It seems it repeats.

Hi Toshi,

I can confirm this. Adding a Line changes the Thinwall offset direction. Curiously, deleting the line doesn't change it back again..... :? :) Can you report this?

It would be nice to have a Preview for all Features

Thank you for your confirmation.
Actually, I can retrospect the process by deleting lines.
See the attached AVI.
You need to reproduce the process only by creating all by yourself.
I could not see this reverse action when I downloaded my model I uploaded today.
Which coincide with your observation, am I right?

BTW, it took me these whole two to three or more days to figure out this is the bug, and another day to let people to reproduce or confirm it.
And I know this is the tip of the iceberg of whole bugs....

It would be very helpful to our development team to know what specific bugs are show-stoppers instead of a request to fix all bugs. We work every development cycle to fix as many bugs as possible.

So these two lines are going to lead me to the future response.
'Escalated to Dev'. :|

Correct. I haven't pursued this any further than playing with your example.
