OnShape - new CAD from SW founders?

This has been tested before and not yet been proven. The idea is good, but it should be possible to install a local version as well, not being forced to use the cloud.

Above all, Alibre Inc. (not 3D Systems) has the patent for internet distributed 3D modelling since (filed already 1999 and registered in 2004) so I guess a few of the 3DS layers are looking into this as we speak Alibre was way ahead of it's time in this field, unfortunately they closed that path many years ago.

WOW! I did not know this about Alibre..

It's really interesting to see how OnShape will develop, it's not for everyone but if succeeded will definitely set another standard for 3d design software.
