Piece will not bend to 90° RESOLVED

I made this piece from an existing .dxf and instead of bending to 90° when I did a sketch bend it wants to curl up. What am I doing wrong?

It doesn't like the sketch bend not doing entirely within the sheet.

Here is one approach based on your file.

Here is another method for bending your part. Not knowing the forming process you will be using to form this .188 thick part it may be better to cut out the mid section. The minimum flange length for this thickness may dictate the process.

Remove the center cut out from the base sketch:


Unbend and cut out center after the 1st bend:



Add Tab after Rebending the part:

I modified your first sketch to remove the problem parts of the shape. Your bend now works.
Un-bend , then project sketch 1 to new sketch (as reference) - convert the required items to regular figures.
Cut the mid section out.
Re-bend.

create another sketch and bend there too, but in reverse direction

2 things to mention:
one: if you use a bend line which stops in the base material, it will create a cut relieve for you automaticaly (if activated int he bend dialog)




two: constraint your sketches.
