plane selection missing in sketch mode

Today when I went to start a new part, and selected create sketch/2d there were no plane or axis selections available (they are all grayed out). Does anyone have any idea what I did wrong?

Check to see if their visibility was turned off.
Sometimes I will turn off plane and axis visibility on a part before closing the file. Then when I start a new part the planes and axes are still turned off.

Thanks, HaroldL. That was it. I must have hit it accidentally as you said and turned them off. I have to say I did know where to find plane and axis visibility. But after some searching, I noticed the eye symbol to the left of the word "plane" and "axis" and clicked them and bingo, my planes and axis were back. There certainly are a lot of things to learn, and thankfully there is fantastic help available.
