Point entry

Does anyone find it strange that you can enter points in 2D sketches using either vector or polar but not in 3D?

Why not polar entry in 3D? Seems pretty basic to me. :?

Your pic shows cartesian coordinates, Toshi (x,y,z). Tim is looking to enter sphereical coordinates (rho, phi, theta)

It didn't exactly bring the house down...

You can see from Alibre Suggestions that most people want "wussy" features :p :)

Miles, you have my vote, exactly what I think too. :)

For now you can probably use relative coordinates with the following formulas.

I do often program 5 axis moves on a CNC grinder.

The reason was for the same purpose as Mike had in the other post with a spline fit in 3D. It would be a whole lot quicker if Alibre had the input window for the data instead. But I can use a spreadsheet to do the the calculations while using a point import addon already posted on this forum. Just extra steps when I already could have been done.
