Putting on part on top of another.

Hi there,

I am designing a fixture that attaches to the top of another part. The semicircular part will sit on top of the circular part. I do not want to 'insert' , as seen, the 'semicircular' part inside the circle ; but, place it on top of the circular part. How do I do that? Is there a way to assign different colors to each element?

Use the constraint tool to mate the top face of the table to the bottom face of the Equal CirclesEx item. You may also need to do a concentric constraint between the outer edge of the table and the CirclesEx item to keep it in place.

It may be a good idea to watch the training videos on Assemblies. They are a bit dated but the concepts are the same.

Colours - you can either set the colour in each part https://help.alibre.com/articles/#!alibre-help-v24/working-with-parts-assemblies-part-colors
, or use assembly colours to override RMB on the part in assembly and choose color properties.
