Hello, I need some help please, I been trying to find what is the best way to model a keyway in a shaft Tapered section, I was wondering if is possible to create a plane tangent to a "cone" (the tapered section of the shaft).

I was wondering if is possible to create a plane tangent to a "cone" (the tapered section of the shaft).

After creating the cone,select insert plane, then select the conical surface and the plane running along center axis of the cone.

I just tried this and was able to create what I think you are looking for.

I just did it to see. Yes. Select the a the plane that is in line with your shaft, and also select the shaft face (shift key to get both selected if you are selecting prior to the new plane command). Insert Plane with those two (face and plane) selected.
