Sketching on a face or plane

I know there must be a simple answer:

How do I get a model to automatically face to the selected surface or plane for sketching

in File>System Options, Make sure "snap to working plane" is checked. If it is checked, when you click/select a face or plane, then select "Activate 2d Sketch", the selcted face/plane will automatically orient.
