What's new

started on the wrong plane

Hello Alibre experts,

I am learning 3D printing and have decided that my design should have been oriented differently when drawn for better printing results.
Likely I can get the 3D printer software to rotate it - however it would be best to also have the correct bottom plane in the Alibre model.

What is now the XY plane I would like to be the YZ plane - is there a way to rotate the model this way?
Some searching and poking around indicates not. Is that correct? I have to re-draw from scratch (thankfully not a complicated part).

Thanks,

As you say, you can re-orient in the slicer software.

You can Boolean Unite into a new part workspace and orient as desired in the Boolean.

Good method, I will remember that. I have put a part in blank assembly, then constrained it as needed and then exported as .stp.
