STL file loading issue

Alibre goes into "not responding" mode when I try to load stl files from 20mb and larger ( a 3.15 file opens up with out any issue). The cpu is at about 12% at it's highest point and the memory used is about 2.9g with 5g available. Have an i7-2860QM processor 2.5GHz, installed memory 8g, running alibre 2013 in 64bit mode, NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M. I have the same issue on my 32bit computer, both computers are Sony Laptops, one is an E series the other is an F series.

An i7 with 4x2 cores will show 12.5% with one core at 100%. GD can only use one core so your 12% means that GD is running at 100% and you have to wait. GD is just not responding to Windows because it has no spare capacity and Windows is reporting "Not Responding". The 20MB file may have something to do with long load times, hang in there and ignore Windows message.
