strange assembly problem

I have two separate and different parts, when I open each part separately they are different. When I start an assembly I insert the first part no problem. I then insert the second part but the first part inserts again. I have never seen this before.....

any ideas suggestions ?

I just tried two completely different parts and they worked fine

When I open both via the browser it just opens up the one. Did you by any chance save the same part twice and just rename the one using the right click context menu? That'll do this.

Both part files are using the same GUID.

This would indicate that likely a copy paste of the first file in Windows was performed.

You can remedy this by opening just one of the files and doing a "Save As" and overwriting the file. This will provide a new GUID unique the that file.
