We still haven't fixed the file association bug?

The "open with" bug that's been hanging around for at least two years? I just installed the "new" GM and lost my file associations in Windows.

This issue is related to Windows 7 and prior and does not happen on all system configurations. To my knowledge it is not an issue on Windows 8.1. However, until another solution can be found you may want to try using the utility OpenWithAdd.exe. You can download it from: http://windowsxp.mvps.org/openwithadd.htm

For detailed steps on using the utility you can refer to http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/17 ... ogram.html and look under "Option Two" which also contains a link to download the utility.

are you talking about GMD native file association or files that it can import? I never had issue in 7 or in windows 8.0 with file association

for the import files, I just simply associated them with the "open with.." and point to the GMD exe and then all those files would simply open with GMD...

It's a Win7 thing, apparently. It's been going around for the last three or so versions of Alibre/GM.

Pain in the neck, but thanks to third party software it's fixable. Seems like it should be pretty easy to fix within the software, though.
