Why does a Cut Feature fail if it attempts to remove all solid geometry from a Part?

I am not sure why it fails, but it does. It creates an "empty Model."

Surely, it can't be a sin to have an empty model because you can save an empty Part

I'll give the example of how I discovered this. I wanted to create two different configurations of a Part. I created two separate Cuts in order to do this. The combination of the Cuts would have removed all geometry prior to the setting up of the Configurations. The second Cut failed for no apparent reason until it dawned on me... Obviously, the solution was to suppress the first Cut before doing the second but that's not the point....

Someone will want to do an action eventually, if the possibility exists...

But why would you want to?

I guess that I do not understand the issue here. If I am deleting all the geometry, then I am creating a New Part. I may wish to Save certain aspects of the Reference Geometry but that is what Project Variables (incorrectly called Global Parameters) are for. Otherwise I am just "starting over."

Then create a New Configuration and Suppress whatever you do not need!

Along the same line:

Remove model pieces (direct editing) also fails if there is only one model piece.
