SZ -- I normally define springs in terms of SAE or (US) MIL specifications. My "automation" system for this is so old that it depends on being able to load a CSV File to set Equation Editor variables. If any of this information would assist you I would be happy to share it with you. I am located in the western United States (GMT-7) and have a GoToMeeting account. An e-mail aimed at me (tangent@olympus.net) wqith your preferred date & time for such a "meet" would make a good start. -- LewThis may not be the proper way to create this spring, just trying to duplicate existing part. The problem is the main coils do not show up on the drawing? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks, GIOV. However this is not a true apples-to-apples comparison. If you look at sz0k30's original file he has created 3 axes, 3 planes, and 1 origin/point, yet all of these "new" entities are in the exact locations as default workspace ones.
Sz0k30, can you comment on why you recreated default workspace entities? This may be causing the DRW rendering issue.
Why would the most basic geometry possible be suspected to cause issue? Thanks, GIOV. However this is not a true apples-to-apples comparison. I have to give full credit to "BigSeb".
For a very long time, one of the biggest complaints in Alibre has been the inability to move or rotate sketches easily.
I don't remember when I first saw it, but Seb had a write-up about about this issue and how he never has this problem. He creates blank part, sheetmetal & assembly files with these duplicate point, planes & axis. He supresses the originals. He the starts each new job with whichever type of file is appropriate, renames it and does the design. I thought this was a great idea and I copied it. I've been trying to do mine the same way ever since and I've never had drawing or missing line problems before.
P.S. I'm not looking for help with how to do a spring. My part file is exactly the way I want it. The problem is the drawing.
Thanks.
Sorry about the previous post. In this post you have 2 test files.
Test case 2 is just a simple cylinder created on the original ZX plane. Try to rotate it about the X axis. Good luck. Original planes & axis can't be modified.
Test case is again a simple cylinder created on my copied in place "ZX Start Plane". Try to rotate it about about the "Start X axis". Pretty easy!!!
But for more info, talk to BigSeb.
