There has been some discussion on Cam constraints in the past.

Constraining/modeling a cam follower?

I am trying to model a cam roller following a cam track and am stuck. I can constrain the roller tangent to one face but only one face and not the entire track. Is there a way to accomplish this?

@Max, could this type of constraints be implemented in a similar way that the v27 "text on a path" is implemented. I.e. contrain to a series of faces or edges using multiple targets? It would put the icing on the cake for the contraint system!

I created spline, and extruded a part from that. As you cam see the cam face was selected as one face, but it did not apply the constraint.

Bummer!!!!!!!
