Custom extension for the Space Navigator

Would anybody be interested in something like this? This is just a quick example - hopefully we could come up with a design that looks less like a dog-bowl that's been left too close to the stove....

How functional will this be? When you twist and move your hand all over how will you reach a specific button?

We'll need to build in some tactile clues.

3 rows on an spherical internal surface would be better, I think.

How about some kind of repeating pattern for feeling your location. Something like the two/three pattern of a piano keyboard?

I may have to wait until these are available to get my left hand input device
