Re: Alibre User "HyperShot Gallery"

Harold,

(Color by face  )
As an example, with STEP AP 214 you can set up a layer on each surface in the CAD app. and in HyperShot you can use this layer.
The process, however, always contains the same steps: A Layer for each surface in the CAD app., also with Rhino, SWX, Pro/E...

Re: Alibre User "HyperShot Gallery"

So how would this work for Alibre parts/assemblies? I don't see a layer option in the part model work space, just in drawings. :?
In SW I just apply a different color the the faces I know I will need to have differing materials on in HS and let HS import the native SW part/assy.
Maybe Alibre and HS need a little closer collaboration to make the files more compatible.

BTW, your match looks like it will light. :D

YES :D

Let`s call it "Color by face...."option/enhancement...export as STEP AP 214.

Harold, I can only say my thoughts or opinion. :D

If I have an Alibre assembly and I need some specific or individual surfaces:
My workflow is:
- Export -> STEP
- Moi3D Import
- Selection of all required surfaces
- Change the color/Styles within Moi3D
- Export *.obj

 And if you don't have Moi3d... :( :(
Just points out another limitation of the Alibre/HS collaboration, the need for another work-around, and the need for having surface color export with Alibre STEP214.

Was asked to model what a full-sized performance synth might look like if it was Intel Atom processor-based and had a 10.4" touch screen integrated. Wish I had a better version of Hypershot... And was better at using it

That is really cool. I may need to try it out some day just for fun.

It's all about the imperfection in the details, isn't it? The fact that the wire isn't perfectly straight makes it look more realistic.

How did you do that, by the way? 3D sketch and sweep? Did you use somehting else to model the wire?

Hi Garet,

Yes, I have created the wire with a 3D Sketch and Sweep.
The reality is often different from our imagination...and not sooo perfect. :)

Re: Alibre User "HyperShot Gallery"

My first Alibe Design project and rendering with HS.

My client was very impressed and thought it was a picture of the real thing.

The background is rendered white as I needed to use the image in a brochure. The text was a bit of a hassle as I had to create a seperate part and assemble this into the final assembly so that I had a part I could select with HS to simulate the infilled engraving. Too me a little while to figure out the texture mapping to get the simulated LCD display.

Hi, Dave,

I'm sure you're already aware of this, but in Hypershot you can output a rendered model without the background by selecting "Include Alpha Channel" on the render tab of the menu. This will allow you to just get the model and the shadows (if you choose), and you can drop it on a variety of backgrounds in your publishing software (I used Word below). See below for a quick example.

I'm still a Hypershot novice myself, but this functionality has helped me a great deal.

Re: Alibre User "HyperShot Gallery"

Thanks Garet,

I found this already. I switch the shadow off as it gets partly cutout at the bottom because of the resolution. It works great without and after importing to the brochure etc, it looks perfect.

Here are some "Useful" Alibre 3D models.
Alibre Pro user for 3 years, and he started last week with KeyShot.
Now the company is able to show their products on a new/upcoming Website

First results with Alibre V12.1 / KeyShot 1.9.54 after a week.

When you do that do you have to switch the 'Visible Environment' off in the Environment tab?
