Thanks for the replies and refreshing my memory on Alibre and exporting to STEP!

I seem to recall years ago that the native file format for Alibre was STEP. If true, is it necessary to export Alibre part and assembly files as a STEP or simply pass on the native Alibre files? I see there is an option to export STEP, just curious about the above. Thanks!

Probably right in front of me... Is there a way to create an indented bill of material on a drawing? I'm on Alibre 2018, kind of waiting on installing 2019. I'm not seeing it in 2018, perhaps that is a feature of 2019? Thanks!

Figured it out! Click on the ordinate dialog box to create a dimension, click on the baseline dimension and then select the feature you want to dimension and bingo - you have added to an existing ordinate dimension set. Wonder how you delete an individual dimension from an ordinate...

Once you've established a set of ordinate dimensions, can you add to them - i.e. one missed tagging a dimension or added another feature or hole, then another dimension is needed, can you add to the already established set of ordinate dimensions? Thanks!

I don't know. Solidworks has the capability (which I use in my day job) - somehow - to show you if each part/assembly is fully constrained. It is a most handy feature.

I don't calculate K-factor (working within Alibre or Solidworks). I use a table (they are all over the internet) for various metals and input that into the CAD, make a flat pattern in the CAD drawing. Maybe it's not the most precise, but I've been getting along with it for years. Don't know...

Years ago, I use to use FTP to pass files back and forth to clients when working a design. What do you recommend for doing so now? This would be for native Alibre files, PDF's, etc. Thanks!
